About Women's and Girls' Emergency Centre (WAGEC)

Every night Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) accommodate 200 women and children in crisis refuges and medium-term support housing. We provide safety and support to women and children when they need it most. We offer case management services, a specialist domestic and family violence after hours service, and work with our community to provide training, capacity building and community development activities.

We support mothers to be the best they can be by providing parenting groups and programs that encourage people to connect with others. We help women through their own journey of recovery by acknowledging their resilience and encouraging them to use their voice.

We encourage financial growth and independence by providing opportunities to engage in study and training, which enables women to upskill and re-enter the workforce.
