About The Shepherd Centre
Founded in 1970 by Dr Bruce Shepherd and his wife Annette, The Shepherd Centre was the first early intervention program in Australia to teach children with hearing loss to develop spoken language.
For over 50 years, The Shepherd Centre has enabled children with hearing loss to develop listening and spoken language, literacy, and social skills, ensuring they can go on to achieve their full potential in life. Today, the organisation supports more than 900 families across Australia through online telehealth services for rural and regional areas and nine in-person centres in NSW, Tasmania, and the ACT.
The Shepherd Centre’s global platform, HearHub, provides tools and resources to health professionals working with children with hearing loss around the world.
